Describe your community ambition
Our ambition is to encourage and support members of the Master Builders Association to use accessible design features in new homes built in the ACT. This would enable people with and without disability to live comfortably and safely in their homes.
How will you take action to achieve your ambition?
We intend to showcase the Charity House Project homes in Deakin, our joint venture with Renaissance Building and Design and the Land Development Agency, as an example of how gold and silver ratings of liveable design features benefit people with and without disability in their home. We will focus on highlighting the benefits of innovative design that responds to community request.

Three Canberra organisations will receive proceeds of the properties once they are sold. These include Boundless Canberra http://www.boundlesscanberra.org.au/, Hands Across Canberra https://www.handsacrosscanberra.org.au/ and Hartley Lifecare http://www.hartley.org.au/ This will allow them to continue to provide ongoing benefits for people with disability in our local community.

How will you promote your ambition to the community?
We aim to tap into media, community, government, and business networks to let them know about the Deakin Charity House Project and ask them to raise awareness of the project via their communication channels and social media.
What will success look like?
Success would be an increased awareness of the benefits of accessible living standards, as well as an increase in number of homes built with liveable design features.
